Its a def. good spot, remotley in the middle, you cant go further either direction and make it anymore in the middle. On the four lane so you know the main roads will be worked at least during the winter. I say fire up the dozers. The other schools will be the same as well, more than adequate room with all the stripped land that lays waste in the county

I agree as well sounds like a good spot (Any word on when the SB or BOS will issue any type of comment on the study and when the new study will begin?)

lol, I'm sure you're right. Richard, I believe. Always spoke at the consolidation meetings, and ran for the SB. I appreciated his comments more than anyone's - they were sincere and he interjected a good bit of humor.

Statistically, you could be quite right on that point.

    Re: Total cost estimate.....

Maybe its time the citizens of Wise County start "reclaiming" some of these stripped parcels ourselves, especially those that offer good locations for the schools or other public projects....."Eminent Domain" could be our friend in this case as opposed to the bad reputation it has in general.

Honestly I think the Coal companies would be more than willing to help out especially if it can get them out of reclaim quicker LOL

    Re: Total cost estimate.....

Why not? They wouldn't have to keep paying taxes on possibly worthless property, i.e., with little mineral resources remaining that could be developed at a palatable cost. And, if by chance any minerals were uncovered during the the site preps, they could be sold to help offset construction costs much the same that UVA-Wise has done over the years while expanding.
